What do you think of European reggae music/scene. It’s growing fast and more and more artists coming to Jamaica. We recently met Irie Souljah, he left Italy to work on his carreer in Jamaica. How do you feel about these artist coming to Jamaica?
Yeah the European reggae music/ scene is doing well. Artists like Gentleman, Alborosie and Ziggi Recado are well known and the new generation is doing well, so good things in Europe. I have a lot of fans in Europe so I love Europe. Good vibes everytime when I am on tour.
You grew up in Thompson Pen, St Catherin can u tell us some more about life in Jamaica in general these days, the press spreading rumors about violence and drugtrafficing and people dont feel like Jamaica is a safe placet to visit. Is it changed according to ten or twenty years ago?
About Jamaica, today is totally different from how it was 10 - 15 years ago. The lifestyle of our people fluctuate everyday due to foreign influences. Jamaica is a place where good and evil alternates. The government good to do much better for our music and culture cause the way it is going on now is absolutely not good for Jamaica.
A lot of big festivals are happening in Jamaica and Europe these days. What can u tell us about the difference between Jamaican reggae festivals and for example European reggae festivals?
Jamaican festivals are the best by far, there's nowhere or place to compare with the jamaica shows. The Europe festivals are also doing very well and have a lot of visitors who really enjoy live music so i love to perform in Europe as well. I receive so much postive energy from all the reggae fans in Europe so looking forward to every new tour that is coming up. Wherever and whenever!
How do you feel singing about Marcus Garvey and his works for a mostly white crowd ?
I think real reggae fans understand what I sing about (whatever skin colour) when I sing of Marcus Garvey and his works.
It's not of Race or any form of bigotry or prejudice. Its about pride as an African, a ppl who where /are lost and scattered from there homeland for over 450 years .I sing to teach entertain and educate and my music is for all ppl.
Now is the right time for equality and the world need peace more than ever.this is why we pray and work hard for the preservation of world peace. All this depends on everyone because we face the problems today. Rastafari says no to aggression in any way shape or form. As the great legend Bob marley would say

Do you think people understandand/or feel what you are singing about?
Yea i guess so cause I receive messages from my fans every day that they feel related to my lyrics. I Always sing and write for the people world wide and I sing about the problems in the world, the love for the woman and other life related subjects. What was your first encounter with Rastafari, and were you open for it or did you had some doubts? & What is the role of his majesty in your life these days? My first encounter with Rasta vibes was about 1991 when I was in school. It was a natural mystic blowing through the air in ja. I was adamant at first it was somehow strange to me but my mind was so hating the system of things around me, there I start checking religion and religious beliefs and there I realize my Africaness was down trad and push under by the slave masters that take my fore mothers and fathers to Jamaica during the time of slavery. I search but not hard because Hail Selassie I is the necleus of Africa's future and for the balancing of Humanity. The I came to a proven conclusion that hail selassie I teachings and warning is the saving grace for this Humanity. There I know I AM RASTA. We heard rumors of upcoming new albums with Zion High Productions and Truckback records, what can u tell the massive about these album. Can u give us a little heads up about these projects? Yeah we will release the new album in May by the mighty I Grade Records from St. Croix (Virgin Island). The title of the album is "Music Never Dies". This album is a roots reggae in the most modern form. It include the track that recently been released called "Too Much Ramshackle" and it include collaborations with Midnite, Pressure Busspipe and Jah Dan as wel I. |

We are very excited hearing you are working on an album with I-grade records, we watched the Dub in the rainforest sessions over and over again, including your performance. Can we expect a dubby album or a roots reggae album, or both??
"Music Never Dies" will be a roots reggae album with a fresh sound and we are thinking to add like two or three dub mixes as well.
