report: anthony b & the bornfire band @ luxor live, Arnhem (20-04-2015)
"march outta babylon"
This veteran came with a huge collection BIG tunes and he gave us a booming energetic performance. Tunes like Redemption Song (Bob Marley cover), Burn Iniquity, Reggae music Gone pon top, A beautiful cover of Imagine (John Lennon tune), Fiyah pon Rome, Blazin' and many many more. The Bornfire band (from Jamaica) was playing some fine reggae music and the two backing vocals were stunning. They completed the sound of Anthony B's songs perfectly. The vocalist from Jamaica was full of energy and it seems like this man is never growing old. We heard these songs for several times and they never get dull. Quite simply a class act !!

Conclusion:
Anthony B brought pure vibes and energy just as we expected. A powerful mix of modern day tunes and of course the never ending list of classics. After 20 years inna the business Anthony B still lives up to the expectations and we got what we came for.. a high quality performance with stunning vocals and a proper roots reggae band. Of Course it was on a Monday but still a respectable crowd came out for this Fireman. What a joy to be able to enjoy this Rastaman's performance from up close. Big up to Luxor Live again for bringing us this quality reggae shows (on a regular base). They are aiming for more and their efforts are not in vain. Luxor Live is becoming a reggae hot spot for the Netherlands for sure !! |
